Mark Harmon Eyes Hollywood Return Four Years After ‘NCIS’ Exit: ‘Not Ready to Retire’ (Exclusive)
The actor, 74, recently guest-starred on a crossover episode of NCIS and NCIS: Origins that airs on CBS on Tuesday, November 11, and “It’s made him realize how much he misses being in front of the camera,” says the source.
When Harmon left the show in 2021 after 18 seasons, his character, Leroy Jethro Gibbs, left to live in Alaska.

The West Wing alum has spent his downtime producing and narrating the spinoff, reprising his role as Jamie Lee Curtis’ husband in Freakier Friday, as well as writing a spy novel.
“Mark tried to enjoy the downtime, but the truth is, he misses the routine, the crew, the fans, the whole buzz of being on set,” says the source.
