Harmon Dynasty: Sean Harmon On Bringing Gibbs’ Origins to Life

NCIS: Origins is more than just a prequel about the formative years of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, an iconic character brought to life by Mark Harmon. It’s also a family collaboration. Mark Harmon not only narrates the series with his distinctive voice but also takes on the role of producer. Joining him behind the scenes is his son, Sean Harmon, who also serves as a producer. Sean, well-known to “NCIS” fans for portraying a younger Gibbs in earlier episodes of the original series, adds a unique touch to this new project.

Reflecting on the experience, Sean describes playing his father’s character as an “absolute honor” and shares his excitement about being part of NCIS: Origins alongside fellow producers Gina Lucita Monreal and David J. North. He also praises Austin Stowell, the actor stepping into the role of the young Gibbs in this prequel, calling him the perfect fit to carry the character forward.
