Kevin Costner renews bid to dismiss ‘Horizon’ sexual harassment lawsuit

Actor-filmmaker Kevin Costner has filed a new motion seeking to dismiss a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by stunt performer Devyn LaBella, who alleges she was forced into an unscripted and unscheduled rape scene during the filming of Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2.

LaBella, a stunt double for actress Ella Hunt, sued in Los Angeles Superior Court in May 2025. She claims that on May 2, 2023, she was unexpectedly asked to perform a simulated rape scene without adequate preparation, an intimacy coordinator, or adherence to union safety protocols.

According to the complaint, the incident took place in front of several crew members and was not part of the original shooting schedule or script. LaBella’s suit names Costner and the film’s production companies as defendants, seeking damages and reforms, including mandatory sexual harassment training and on-set intimacy coordination for future productions.
