NCIS’ Mark Harmon lands new role in ‘comfortable’ reunion with ex co-star

Mark Harmon, who has spent almost two decades as Agent Gibbs in NCIS, has been working on a completely different project.

Fans of CBS were saddened to see Agent Gibbs (portrayed by Harmon) leave NCIS, an iconic figure in the famous police procedural, back in 2021.

Despite leaving NCIS, Harmon continues to be part of the NCIS universe, narrating and appearing in the first episode of the Gibbs prequel, NCIS Origins.

In addition to his work on this latest NCIS spin-off, the 73 year old actor has been busy with another franchise, reprising his role. The family comedy Freaky Friday, starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, debuted the same year as NCIS in 2003 where their mother and daughter characters switch bodies.

Harmon played Ryan, the soon-to-be husband of Curtis’ character Tess Coleman, much to the chagrin of teenager Anna Coleman (Lindsay Lohan).
