Taylor Sheridan Is Leaving Paramount—What It Means for the ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoffs
Over the past seven years, Taylor Sheridan has become a household name. Responsible for hit series like Yellowstone, Landman, Mayor of Kingstown, and Tulsa King, Taylor has established himself as a synonym for stellar television. Now, though, he’s parting ways with Paramount, the network that helped make his entertainment dreams a reality. And the separation has fans scrambling for answers.

Taylor has had a long-standing relationship with Paramount since the beginning of the Yellowstone franchise. While he has multiple projects in the works, Taylor reportedly took issue when David Ellison became the new CEO of Paramount in August 2025. According to the Wall Street Journal, David approached Taylor with an idea for a series celebrating America’s 250th anniversary in 2026, and Taylor wasn’t on board. That was just one way that the 55-year-old TV producer clashed with the new CEO. After a few months of back and forth, Taylor had reportedly had enough and decided to part ways with Paramount in favor of a billion-dollar deal with NBCUniversal. His new partnership is set to start in 2029, with his contract with Paramount coming to a close in 2028
